WBTQ/Hot 93 is a Hot Adult Contemporary radio station at 93.5 FM in Buckhannon, West Virginia. WBTQ was formerly owned by Dick McGraw's Elkins Radio Corporation, until WBTQ and sister stations WBRB-FM, WBVQ-FM and WELK-FM were sold to West Virginia Radio Corporation in 2005. WBTQ syndicates using ABC Radio's Today's Best Hits Hot AC format.
[edit] History
In early 2005, WBTQ and sister station WELK-FM in Elkins made a format swap. Since the station's beginning, WBTQ was an Oldies station called B-93, and WELK 94.7 was a Hot AC station called K-95 FM. For a while after the switch, WELK was an Oldies station, but in early 2006 WELK dropped Oldies to an Adult Hits station called SAM 94.7, but however due to a decrease in ratings, WELK switched back to an Oldies station in mid 2006. Adult Hits can still be found at 93.1 in Barrackville called SAM 93.1.
