[edit] History

WBGR first went on the air on August 28, 1995 as Bangor's WB affiliate. That relationship ended in 1998 when the WB created a cable-only channel for its smaller markets.

[edit] Programming

WBGR is based on local programming. The station began airing America One Network programming in early 2005. WBGR also airs late afternoon CBS college football games thatWABI chooses not to run (as they may interfere with WABI's 6pm newscast). The station frequently pre-empts early evening ION Television network programming in order to air local religious shows. WBGR is in the process of a major make over, for the first time since 1995 WBGR will head back to the roots of what they wanted to do so in the first place.

WBGR is looking to aim itself at new programing and a new era of TV.
