Wayne Jacobs

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wayne Jacobs was born in Sheffield in 1969.

He is an English football player who has played as a left-back for Sheffield Wednesday, Hull City, Rotherham United and Bradford City.

He spent ten years with The Bantams and held his testimonial against Bolton Wanderers. Jacobs scored the winning goal, a penalty, in a 3-2 win. His final appearance was as a substitute in the 4-2 win over Bournemouth, where he was given a richly deserved standing ovation for the dedicated service he gave to Bradford City.

One fan is infamously quoted as saying: "Some ginger players run through brick walls for their clubs. Wayne Jacobs puts those showboaters to shame, all hail the real Wazza"

He moved from City to Halifax Town, where he is now assistant manager to another former Bantam, Chris Wilder.
