"Way Away" is the first single, released prior to its album, Ocean Avenue. It is the first track as well. The song and music video both reflect the band's choice about leaving their hometown of Jacksonville, Florida to California in hopes of making a name for themselves in the Southern California rock scene.

Way Away is part of the soundtrack for the football video game Madden NFL 2004.
