Wauconda High School, officially Wauconda Community High School, and most commonly WHS, is a public four-year high school located in Wauconda, Illinois, a northern suburb of Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. It is part of Wauconda Community Unit School District 118.

Wauconda first opened its doors in September, 1958.

In 2005, Wauconda had an average composite ACT score of 21.0, and graduated 92.0% of its senior class. The average class size is 19.6. Wauconda has made Adequate Yearly Progress on the Prairie State Achievements Examination, a state test part of the No Child Left Behind Act.[1]

The staff is comprised of 118 teachers, of which 55% hold an advanced degree.[2]

Wauconda competes in the North Suburban Conference and Illinois High School Association. Its mascot is Bruiser the Bulldog. Also Wauconda has an outstanding basketball program. The cheerleaders took 3rd in state.
