Waterstock
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Waterstock is small sleepy village in Oxfordshire, England. It is located approximately 7 km west of Thame just off the A418 and about 1 km from the M40 motorway Junction 8.
In the village itself there is very little other than around 50 houses, a church, farm and a public phone box along one main street. Near the motorway junction there is a motorway service station (named Oxford services) and a public golf course. The creation of both caused much opposition from the village residents who saw them as a threat to the quiet village life.
There is a strong equestrian presence in the village; many of the houses in Waterstock have their own stables. Waterstock House Training Centre is the main equestrian centre of the village, and was once owned by the famous Lars Sederholm, a well known horse trainer.
