[edit] Plot summary
The episode begins with a meeting of the Council of Sages, who express disbelief that the Nirvash typeZERO was fully activated and set off a Seven Swell. They also note that this was outlined in Adrock Thurston's Ageha Plan which was hitherto abandoned. Coda, one of the Sages, proposes that they summon Lt. Colonel Dewey Novak to address these matters, as he led the first attempt at the Plan before it was abandoned.
Aboard the Gekko, Renton reflects on how in the week he's spent thus far with the group, no one is lifting, as they don't have the money to land anywhere legitimately. He finds himself doing seemingly meaningless chores and enduring abuse from Eureka's children.
In a meeting of all hands, Holland asks the crew to propose ideas to raise funds for Gekkostate. Renton finds an advertisement for a lifting tournament on the back of a magazine. In the next meeting, Hap proposes a courier job to Stroholn using just LFOs on a direct course through Alland Canyon. As the pay is slim and the route is dangerous (veering near a formidable UF military base), Talho demands alternatives. Renton offers his idea, but is promptly ignored in favor of Hap's idea.
Renton is charged with the safe delivery of the cargo, delivered aboard the Nirvash. Along with the other Gekkostate LFOs, they fight past the military base, timing their path to perfectly intersect with a trapar geyser's eruption. Renton is upset with Hap when he discovers that the cargo is actually black market organs for transplants. When Holland returns with even less pay than expected, Talho forces Renton to do her bathroom cleanup for her.
While Renton is in the bathroom cleaning, Matthieu informs him that the Gekkostate members lift only in favorable spots, and never for money; in addition, he tells Renton that Eureka's children are all adopted.
In a stockade, Dominic reports to Dewey Novak that his reinstatement is imminent. Dewey comments that it would be proper to depose a leader who willingly puts himself on the line.
