Watchet railway station

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Watchet railway station is a station on the West Somerset Railway, a heritage railway in Somerset, United Kingdom. It is situated in the small harbour town of Watchet.

This station was the original terminus of the West Somerset Railway, hence the main station building is situated at right angles to line. The line was then extended to Minehead in 1874. The footbridge (the only one on the line) was added to maintain an original public right of way. The harbour was connected to the "main line" by a steep incline up to the goods shed.
