Many errors on this page because the author was unaware that Notonectidae are called Water boatmen in the UK. Most of the info on this page applies to that family and not to the Corixidae, which do not swim upside down, do not eat tadpoles and fish but rather algae and plankton, and do not bite. They also usually top out at 12 mm.
