"Wasteland" is a single released by hard rock band 10 Years in 2005. It is their debut single from their first major release, The Autumn Effect. The song reached number-one on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart in February 2006.
The song is about being addicted. The verses are from the view point of the addict, whereas the chorus is the viewpoint of the one who is trying to help the person that is addicted. The addiction isn't necessarily drugs, however, but it could be to anything.
Despite the actual meaning of the song, the first music video released for the song addressed the social problem of human rights around the world. The video received nominations for Best Direction and Best Art Direction at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards.
A second music video was released and can be seen on any music channel.
