Washington Township is a township in Wyoming County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,306 at the 2000 census.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 50.0 km² (19.3 mi²). 48.4 km² (18.7 mi²) of it is land and 1.6 km² (0.6 mi²) of it (3.21%) is water.

As of the census2 of 2000, there were 1,306 people, 486 households, and 377 families residing in the township. The population density was 27.0/km² (69.9/mi²). There were 525 housing units at an average density of 10.9/km² (28.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the township was 98.32% White, 0.08% Native American, 0.23% from other races, and 1.38% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.15% of the population.
There were 486 households out of which 40.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.1% were married couples living together, 12.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.4% were non-families. 19.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.69 and the average family size was 3.09.
In the township the population was spread out with 30.2% under the age of 18, 6.1% from 18 to 24, 28.3% from 25 to 44, 26.1% from 45 to 64, and 9.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females there were 91.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.1 males.
The median income for a household in the township was $37,390, and the median income for a family was $40,855. Males had a median income of $32,000 versus $21,250 for females. The per capita income for the township was $16,655. About 10.0% of families and 12.7% of the population were below the poverty line, including 19.9% of those under age 18 and 6.7% of those age 65 or over.
