Washington Legal Foundation

The Washington Legal Foundation is a nonprofit legal organization founded in 1977. Their stated goal is "to defend and promote the principles of freedom and justice". The organization usually takes the side of businesses fighting against governmental regulation and for a laisser-faire approach by government.

The organization is located at 2009 Massachusetts Avenue, in Washington DC. This site was once the home of Speaker of the House, Nicholas Longworth and his wife, Alice Roosevelt Longworth, the daughter of US 26th President, Theodore Roosevelt. Alice lived there for over 70 years until her death in 1980.
