"Wash" is a Pearl Jam song which originally appeared as a B-side on the "Alive" single. It also appeared on the "Alive" promotional CD and cassette that were released prior to the commercial single release.
The song was a Ten outtake and one of the very first songs the band wrote. According to guitarist Stone Gossard, the song was written instantaneously.[1]
"Wash" later appeared on the 2003 Pearl Jam B-Sides and rarities compilation Lost Dogs. The version on Lost Dogs is a completely different version from the b-side.
