an open letter to the rajput community

i usually visit wikipedia for references and gain knowledge. i see an on going fierce debate about the rajputs. i have learnt many things about rajputs from here which are quit similar to what my forefathers have told as legends passing from one generation to another.since i am a very proud muslim rajput, i have a natural tendency for enquiery and analysis of the statements given here by many fellows.

i see many fellows just givivng superficial statements about the matter of the fact and seem to quarrel baselessy of trivial matters.

"rajput' is not a prerogative of a particular religious community. being a rajput is may be an honor but not a previlege to disregard other people on the basis of religion. "rajput" has nothing to do with the religion or creed it is just an affiliation with the clan who had the honor to be a rajput in medieval times and believe me with the passage of time the conditions that existed in medieval times will never revert back. in medieval times, rajput mentality was a privelege but this is no longer the same as it used to be so rajputs now need to adjust themselves for the future which has no place for caste system. more over caste system is becoming weaker day by day. rajputs need to develop a sence of a society with other people as their equals though feeling proud of ones own ancestry does not imply that one is not in favor of an egalitarian society. chauvinism is making the subcontinent lag behind modernity. muslim rajputs have adjusted themselves to a new creed with some legacy of their past conserved like marriage within rajput community and retaining their past identity. hindu rajputs are still chauvinist and parochial by nature so i request hindu rajput fellows to think for future with a pride of the past.

thank you
