[edit] Lewis and Clark monument history
There seems to be conflicting information on the dedication of this monument.
- [1] says it was 1903-5-21.
- [2] appears to be the state legislature funding similar work
- [3] says president Teddy laid the cornerstone in 1903 and it was completed in 1908.
- [4] is in depth but doesn't really say
Maybe one was a dedication and the other a commissioning? The park's dept seems to have the best explanation. Anyone know anything about this? EncMstr 00:07, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Wikitravel
I would suggest that much of this information be moved to the Wikitravel article on Portland [5]. Using other articles in Category:Urban public parks as guidelines (such as Morningside Park, Pelham Bay Park, Loring Park, Hyde Park, Sydney, etc.), the size and much of the content isn't really appropriate.
- Agreed—I didn't know of such a "destination". :-) EncMstr 23:04, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

- Since there are no urban parks that have been featured, I will use Central Park as the gold standard when rewriting this article. Cacophony 06:34, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

- When I started working on it, the article was rather minimal. I drew inspiration from the Central Park article and added to it accordingly. But it was one look and dashing forward without another look. I'd be interested in your interpretation. EncMstr 23:04, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
