Warud is a city and a municipal council in Amravati district in the Indian state of Maharashtra.

As of 2001 India census,GRIndia Warud had a population of 41,005. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Warud has an average literacy rate of 77%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 80%, and female literacy is 74%. In Warud, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age. In the latest municipal elections held in Nov. 2006, Mrs. Jaya Nerkar has been elected as a president of Municipal Council. She won the seat from BJP-Shivsena allied ticket. Though Warud has basicaly an agricultural based economy, it gave in the history many great people to the nation for its growth. They are : Mr. Sitaramji Chaudhary(Mahajan), Mr. Vishramji S. Yawalkar, Mr. Keshav S. Yawalkar, Mr. Shantaramji yawalkar (Dermatologist), Mr. Vasudeorao (Nanasaheb) Deshpande and many more. In the current scenario many people are contributing a very good support for the development of Warud like, Mr. T. V. Warhekar, Mr. Shankarrao Deote, Prabhakarrao Holey, Mr. Raju Kale.
