Warsaw is a city located in Benton County, Missouri. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 2,070. It is the county seat of Benton CountyGR6. As of 2005, its estimated population was 2,268.

On July 14, 1954, the temperature in Warsaw rose to a staggering 118°F (48°C). This remains the hottest temperature ever recorded in the state of Missouri. However, on February 13, 1905, the temperature at Warsaw fell to -40°F (-40°C), the coldest temperature ever recorded in the state. Thus, it is only one of two cities in the United States which has recorded both its state's extreme temperatures. The other is Millsboro, Delaware.

Warsaw is located at 38°14'43" North, 93°22'38" West (38.245195, -93.377227)GR1.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 5.6 km² (2.2 mi²). 5.1 km² (2.0 mi²) of it is land and 0.5 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 8.76% water.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 2,070 people, 923 households, and 539 families residing in the city. The population density was 403.7/km² (1,045.5/mi²). There were 1,027 housing units at an average density of 200.3/km² (518.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 98.36% White, 0.14% African American, 0.43% Native American, 0.05% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 0.10% from other races, and 0.87% from two or more races. 1.26% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 923 households out of which 24.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 44.7% were married couples living together, 10.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 41.6% were non-families. 38.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 21.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.12 and the average family size was 2.78.
In the city the population was spread out with 21.7% under the age of 18, 7.1% from 18 to 24, 22.9% from 25 to 44, 21.2% from 45 to 64, and 27.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 44 years. For every 100 females there were 79.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 77.7 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $23,583, and the median income for a family was $33,068. Males had a median income of $24,464 versus $19,301 for females. The per capita income for the city was $15,262. 18.5% of the population and 9.5% of families were below the poverty line. 24.7% of those under the age of 18 and 14.2% of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line.
