[edit] Capital One Bowl
In 2005, Iowa finished with a 9-2 record and headed off to the Capital One Bowl to play the LSU Tigers on January 1. Iowa was winning by a few points for the entire game, until LSU scored a touchdown with 47 seconds remaining in the game. LSU was now leading 25-24. Kirk Ferentz stated that Iowa was trying to win the game with a field goal. But with only a few seconds left, Iowa quarterback Drew Tate threw the football 56 yards down to Holloway, who sprinted to the end zone, scoring a touchdown as time expired. Iowa stunned the LSU Tigers and won the game, 30-25. Nobody expected Holloway to score the final touchdown, because that was the only touchdown of his entire career as a football player at Iowa. If you go to Iowa City and tour Iowa's campus, you can find the trophy from the Capital One Bowl. It has a picture behind it of Holloway scoring the game-winning touchdown, with a dozen shocked LSU fans in the background.
Warren Holloway has since graduated from Iowa, and while he did not get drafted into NFL football, his one touchdown will always be remembered by Iowa fans.
