A major station on the Gippsland railway line line about 100km east of Melbourne serving the town of Warragul. For a period during the 1990s it was serviced by electric suburban trains, now only Intercity Trains. The Warragul station has recently become more equipped to suit the V'locity 160 DMU. Trains now travel on both tracks (Platform 1&2), as part of the fast rail project. Tracks in the former yard are now used as storage for concrete sleepers, old and new signals, and Rail machines. Tracks on the Melbourne side of the station have been moved, a little in order to reduce the track radius so trains can travel at top speed around that particular bend.
