Warner Emerson Leighton (March 21, 1930 - March 20, 2005) was an American film, sound, music, effects and supervising editor. The youngest of nine children, he married his sweetheart Marion E. Gridley on March 6, 1951. During the 1960s Warner had edited a lot of William Hanna and Joseph Barbera cartoons such as The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Atom Ant, Scooby Doo, The Secret Squirrel Show, Johnny Quest, Hey There, It's Yogi Bear, and Space Ghost. During that time Warner had also edited a lot of Jack Kirby and Stan Lee cartoons such as The Fantastic Four. During that time Warner had also edited a lot of Doug Wildey cartoons such as Jonny Quest.

Warner had also had edited Gone in 60 Seconds which actor, director, producer, and stuntman H.B. Halicki was a problem. There was no official script for the movie, apart from several pages outlining main dialog sequences. Much of the action/dialog was improvised and made up by the cast and crew as they went along. This caused many problems for the editor, Warner E. Leighton, who never knew what footage was being dumped on him or where in the movie it belonged. In the DVD audio commentary, he described the script for the construction site portion of the main pursuit as a piece of cardboard with a circle on it. Director H.B. Halicki pointed at it and said, "That's the dust bowl. We went around it twice. There's your script." Warner also had edited The Junkman and Deadline Auto Theft for director H.B. Halicki.

Warner had also edited a lot of TV Movies. Warner had also edited the movie C.H.O.M.P.S, The American Dreamer for actor, director, producer, and stutman Dennis Hopper, and Wolf Lake.
