Warm
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Warm is normally used as a subjective measure of temperature, commonly used to describe a comfortable temperature. It is strongly associated with hot, and its antonym is cool.
For example, warm water is often described as around 35 degrees celcius, but a warm day may be around 25 degrees celcius (depending strongly on geographical location).
Warm as a verb is used to add heat to something, for example "warm the food", or "global warming". Modern colloquial use of the term is sometimes used to imply homosexuality, for example "That was a bit warm". This gives an alternate meaning to such sayings as "A warm welcome" and "You look very warm today".
