Warlock (Artemis Fowl)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Warlocks are fairies who have strong magic skills, and their magic never runs dry, unlike elves. Usually they are used as emergency medics. They have a strong pacifict creed .
Although warlocks played a huge part in Artemis Fowl: The Lost Colony, they were mentioned in other books, too, mostly as a fairy with strong magic usually used in healing (warlocks were doctors, etc). It is thought that these are not actually demon warlocks; they are normal gnomes with a job to heal.
- In Artemis Fowl, warlocks were mentioned when there was an explanation of how Foaly built his mechanical time-stop towers.
- In Artemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident, warlocks were used in the fight against the B'wa Kell; one attempted to heal Trouble Kelp's back.
- In Artemis Fowl: The Eternity Code, Holly states to Artemis Fowl that "to heal Butler they needed a trained team of warlocks."
- In Artemis Fowl: The Opal Deception, there is a team of warlocks at Argon's medical facility.
- In Artemis Fowl: The Lost Colony, warlocks were mentioned throughout the story. The still-living ones are Qwan, Qweffor, and No1
It is traditional for a warlock to have a name starting with Qw- (Hence Qwan and Qweffor). The names offered to No1 (who refused to take the names) were Qwerty, which is the first six letters on the top row most computer keyboards in order, and Qwandry, a play on the word quandary.
