Warley High School

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Warley High School is a secondary school located in Oldbury, West Midlands, England. The school was granted Sports College specialist status.

It opened in about 1960 as Oldbury Technical School, a type of school which bridged the gap between secondary modern and grammar schools and was very biased towards technical subjects. There was also a sixth form centre, which survived the name change in 1975 but closed approximately 10 years later following a rise in popularity of sixth form colleges like Halesowen College.

The school's most famous former pupil is Frank Skinner, the TV comedian who attended between 1968 and 1973.
