Wardak (Pashto: وردک, also spelt Vardak) is one of the thirty-four provinces of Afghanistan. It is in the centre of the country. Its capital is Meydan Shahr.
The population, about 70,000, is a mixture of 90% Pashtuns, 8% Hazaras and 2% others. Most Wardak residents are Pashto speakers.
