Warcraft III Clans
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Clans in Warcraft III are a group of users that have joined together to create a clan. In this clan, the members will have their own private channel in Warcraft III where they may chat with their other clan members and any other visitors that enter the channel.

[edit] Members
The clan consists of one cheiftan, up to five shamans and an unspecified number of grunts and peons. The cheiftan is the leader of the clan and has full power of the capabilities of the clan. The shaman are right behind the cheiftan with some power, and the grunts and peons have no power.
[edit] Capabilities
Cheiftan - The leader of the clan may promote/demote members of the clan's ranks. Such as demoting a Grunt to a Peon. The Cheiftan may also write a Message of the Day in the channel. This MOTD (Message of the Day) will be shown to all members each time they join the channel. The Cheiftan also invites users into the clan, and if needed, may disband the clan completely.
Shaman - The second best rank in the clan, Shaman, may also promote/demote members of the clan's ranks, but it is limited. The Shaman may not promote a Grunt to a Shaman, or demote a Shaman to a Grunt. The Shaman can also not overthrow a Cheiftan. They, too, can write MOTD's and invite users into the clan. Shamans can also kick users out of the clan.
Grunts and Peons - The Grunts & Peons have no power at all, but the Grunt is considered to be a higher rank then the Peon.
[edit] Requirements
There are requirements for creating a clan, if not followed, the clan will not be created. There must be atleast ten users to 100 users that agree to join and create a clan, and these users cannot already be in a clan. If they are in a clan, they may leave their current clan to join another. Once users have joined a clan, they may not leave the clan until ten days have passed. During these ten days, the Cheiftan is also not allowed to promote any members of the clan (All other members during the ten day creation of a clan will be Peons).
The clan also will need a name and abbreviation - ranging from two to four letters long. The name can mean anything, and the abbreviations do not have to match the clan's name. If a clan already has a specified abbreviation, no other clan may take that specific abbrevation.
[edit] Types
Many users create clans for a specific purpose. Some may be just a group of friends, others may be a group of users that have something in common, such as mapmaking; sports; Warcraft III custom games; or other interests. An example of a clan would be Clan TTG - Chieftain: LegendOfChaos13. Clan TTG (Trigger_This Gaming) is a clan that specializes in the Warcraft III World Editor and in creating custom games.
[edit] Profiles
Every user of Warcraft III has a profile. An area where the user can write about themselves and other information is described. In the profiles, the user will have the clan that they are in written in their profile and what rank they are.
