[edit] Gameplay

Playing games rewards players coins. Coins can be used to buy certain special items for non-members, such as different colors for your penguin and blue puffles, and members can buy any item. Usually once a month the staff hold parties celebrating a holiday or special event. Often they give away free clothing at these events. If you do become a member you can spend your coins on furniture for your igloo, clothing, pets and acessories. These items can be found in catalogues which displays the items for sale. Players can read the latest news in the newspaper that comes out every Tursday. The newspaper contains information on events, places and the game in general. It also displays riddles, jokes, poetry, secrets, and comics submitted by other players.

[edit] Pets

In Club Penguin, one can adopt little virtual pets called Puffles, who can play, eat, and sleep. If feeling neglected, Puffles can run away. They have Rest, Health, and Energy meters. You can feed them 3 types of food: PuffleO's, cookies, and bubble gum. There are five different colors of puffle, each with its own personality. There are blue puffles, pink puffles, black puffles, purple puffles, and green puffles. Each puffle can play with its different toys. All puffles cost 800 coins.

Blue Puffle The blue puffle's attitude is described in the pet catalog as "Mild tempered, Content." It likes to play with its ball. This puffle is the only puffle that can be adopted by non-members and members.

Pink Puffle The pink puffle's attitude is described in the pet catalog as "Active, cheery." It likes to play with its trampoline and its jump rope. This puffle likes to exercise. It is only avalabile to members

Black Puffle The black puffle's attitude is described in the pet catalog as "Strong, silent type." It likes to play with its skateboard. This puffle is sometimes very energetic.

Green Puffle The green puffle likes to play with its unicycle and propellor cap. This puffle likes to clown around and play with the ball.

Purple Puffle The purple puffle plays with a bubble wand. It likes to add flavor to its food.

Red Puffle The red puffle plays with bowling pins and a cannon. It originally came from Rockhopper Island.

[edit] Mini-Games

The mini-games in Club Penguin are used to get coins to buy accesories and such. The games featured in Club Penguin are currently:

  • Ballistic Biscuit, a game which the player is on an innertube and being pulled a boat, and has to dodge floating objects in the water

  • Ice Fishing, a very simple fishing game where you try to catch fish and dodge dangerous obstacles
  • Puffle Roundup, in this game, you move your cursor to catch Puffles and put them in a fenced area
  • Bean counters, a simple game where you have to catch bags of coffee beans thrown from a truck
