In the wargame Warhammer 40,000, the Eldar are thought to be tho oldest of the mortal races (the Necron are in fact older, but are consitered immortal). They onece had a great empire spanning across many galaxes. But, when [[The Fall] occured, the Eldar were all but destroyed. They lost power throughout the galexeys, untill the Eldar mainly consisted of Craftworlds (such as Alotic, and Be'altan). See The Fall Of The Eldar For More Information.

[edit] Eldar Weaponry

The Eldar, in genral have much more powerful and sofisticated weaponry then the other races of Warhammer 40,000. Their main weapons, fire Shurikens, disklike metal object, that has good armor peirceing capabilitys. The Eldar Guardians (their main troop choice) is equiped with a Shucurin Catupult. A formitable weapon, that "Makes a Space Marine's Bolter look like a pea shooter"*. Wich, though are somewhat inaccurate, are very devistating in large numbers. The Shuriken catupult, has many variations, includeing the Shuriken Pistol, and Shuriken Cannon. The Eldar also have specialised weaponry, similar to those used by Space Marines, but, onecemore, more sophisticated. Weapons like these, include the formitable Fusion Gun, Lasblaster, and Missle Launcher.
