Wansford

Wansford – in England – is a village near Stibbington near Peterborough.It is the home of the Nene Valley Railway.
The village of Wansford is actually two separate villages under different parish councils. Wansford Parish Council, within the area of Peterborough Unitary Authority, comprises the village north of, and including, Wansford Old Bridge. More at www.wansfordvillage.com
The village to the south of Wansford Old Bridge (The Haycock side) is represented by Stibbington Cum Sibson Parish Council and comes under Huntingdonshire District Council. Wansford station is actually in Stibbington. There is a GP surgery on Yarwell road Wansford and Kings Cliffe Practice
For those historians out there,it was split between 2 counties until 1965 when it became under one authority,(Huntingdon and Peterborough),and the boundary post is still there halfway across the bridge marking the north side of the Nene as in the Soke of Peterborough,an autonomous part of Northamptonshire until 1965 and the south side as in Huntingdonshire.
