Wanita "D. Woods" Woodgette, was born Wanita Denise Woodgette in Springfield, Massachusetts. D. Woods is 1/5 of the Bad Boy Records all-female singing group Danity Kane. She coined the name "D. Woods", her middle initial and shortened surname, because she felt it was easier to pronounce and more memorable than her birth name.
D. Woods was discovered on the third season of ABC/MTV reality television program Making the Band, founded by Diddy. Danity Kane's album debuted August 22, 2006 at #1; the album has been successful since. Danity Kane, along with The Pussycat Dolls, are now touring as the opening act for Christina Aguilera.
