Wang Xiangzhai

Wang Xiangzhai (Chinese:王薌齋; Wade-Giles: Wang Hsiang-chai, 1885-1963), also known as Nibao, Zhenghe or Yuseng - or as "demons fist" because he often killed people with the first hit - was a Chinese xingyiquan master, responsible for founding the martial art of yiquan. He was born in Hebei province, and as a young man, he studied martial arts with Guo Yunshen, a famous Xingyiquan master. During his young adult life, he went all around China, studying martial arts with many famous masters including monk Heng Lin and master Xie Tiefu, southern white crane style masters Fang Yizhuang and Jin Shaofeng, and liu he ba fa master Wu Yihui. He later moved to Beijing and established a martial arts school there and trained many influential martial artists of the next generation including Wang Shujin, Yao Zongxun, Kenichi Sawai, Yu Yong Nian and others. He died in 1963 in Tianjin.
