[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Akola_District_Map.png

Thanks for uploading Image:Akola_District_Map.png. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Pretending to protect the page Akola

Hi there. Please do not pretend to add protection tags to pages such as you did to Akola. Please also review the policies of Wikipedia. If you want to write something that no one else can edit, you should not submit it at Wikipedia.--Bill 20:31, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Template:User Single Male

Hi, I notice that you are using Template:User Single Male, which has been moved to {{User:UBX/singlemale}}. The link currently being used on your page is a cross-namespace redirect and will probably not last. It may be advisable to change the link. Thanks. —Mira 23:42, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

Never mind, I fixed it up for you. Happy editing! —Mira 09:07, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:WikiprojectIndiacities akola.png

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:WikiprojectIndiacities akola.png. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Bkell (talk) 04:27, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

This image had been tagged with the {{wikipedia-screenshot}} tag, but this tag doesn't make sense, because this is not a picture of a Wikipedia page (it's a map of India). I tried to find the original image that you edited, but I was not successful. It would help a lot if you could add a link to the original image, and use an image copyright tag to specify the license. If the original image was licensed under the GFDL, then any modifications must also be licensed under the GFDL, so you will need to use the {{GFDL-self}} tag. Otherwise, as the creator of the image you may have some options. Let me know if you have any questions. —Bkell (talk) 04:27, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
Hello again. I know that you made the image from some other Wikipedia map, but all you say is that you "used the image of India from Wikipedia". There are many images of India on Wikipedia. Which one did you use? If you used Image:WikiprojectIndiacities aurangabad.png, say, then please make a note on the description page for your image that says something like "I modified Image:WikiprojectIndiacities aurangabad.png".
The reason this is important is because Wikipedia needs to keep track of the licensing for all of its images. The {{wikipedia-screenshot}} tag doesn't make sense for your image, because it is not a picture of a Wikipedia page, it is a map of India. It was made from another image on Wikipedia, but it is not itself a picture of a Wikipedia page.
Now, if the image you modified was licensed under the GFDL, then you must also license your image under the GFDL. (You would use the {{GFDL-self}} tag for that.) If the image you modified was placed in the public domain, then you can place your map in the public domain (with {{PD-self}}), or you can license it under the GFDL, or you can choose another free license.
So what I'm asking you to do is to make a link on the image description page for Image:WikiprojectIndiacities akola.png to the original image that you modified, and change the licensing information to show what license it is under. If you need more information, please let me know. —Bkell (talk) 17:34, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
It looks good. Thank you for your work.
By the way, if you want to indent some text (like this), put a colon or two in front of it (::). Each colon will indent the text a little more. Putting spaces in front doesn't indent the text; it marks the text as "preformatted", so the lines won't wrap and the text will be displayed in a monospace font in a gray box, like this:
This text is preformatted, because I began this line with a space. This line of text will probably go way off the right side of your screen. Using a colon to indent this text would have been a better idea.
Also, when you leave a message on a talk page, you can sign your name with four tildes, like this: ~~~~ That way there will be a link to your user page, so it will be easier for people to reply to you. —Bkell (talk) 20:48, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image discrepancy

On the page at Image:Carmel.png you say you created the image yourself. However, it appears to be almost identical to one at [1]. Please explain this discrepancy. --BigChicken 04:05, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
