Walon Green

Walon Green (b. December 15, 1936, in Baltimore, Maryland) is an American documentary film director and screenwriter for both TV and films. He directed the documentary Journey Through the Secret Life of Plants in 1979. Among his screenwriting credits are the films The Wild Bunch, Eraser, The Hi-Lo Country and RoboCop 2. On television he worked on episodes of ER and NYPD Blue; in 1995, he received an Edgar Award for his writing for the latter series. His most notable film is the The Hellstrom Chronicle, which earned him the Academy Award and the BAFTA in 1972.

Walon Green is also the father of Darwin Green, a writer and film editor, and Collin Green, a teacher and photographer.
