Walking in the Air was originally performed by Peter Auty for The Snowman. In 1998 Nightwish made a cover of the song for their album Oceanborn. Lyrics and music by Howard Blake.
In 1994, George Winston made a cover of the song for his album Forest. And in 2005, Mari Fujimara recorded a cover for the second volume of the album The Most Relaxing New Age Music in the Universe.
The song is also performed Chloe Agnew on the first track of Celtic Woman, a compilation CD by Manhattan (Capitol) Records.
