Walford Anglican School for Girls

The Walford campus is situated at 316 Unley Road, Hyde Park five kilometers from the centre of Adelaide, South Australia. The School has modern, well-equipped facilities, including the magnificent Helen Reid Hall /Performing Arts Centre and Chapel, Information Centre and Middle School complex. A new boarding house for 70 students offers a home-away-from-home atmosphere with the most up-to-date facilities including en-suite bathrooms and single rooms for senior students. All rooms are equipped with computer facilities for each student. The school also has tennis / netball courts, hockey fields, a swimming pool and two shared boatsheds.

A rigorous academic program is offered which includes a broad range of SACE (South Australian Certificate of Education) and IB International Baccalaureate subjects at Years 11 and 12, as well as a wide range of co-curricular activities. Walford is the only girls' school in South Australia to offer all three IB programs across the years including the IB Diploma. The School has a record of outstanding achievement in academic work and enjoys a fine reputation for its excellence is sporting, musical and dramatic performances.

Walford has a traditional system of school houses and an elected student council. A dedicated team of some 70 teachers and 50 ancillary staff provide the highest quality service at all levels.

The staff and students enjoy some of the most comprehensive and up-to-date technology facilities in schools today. Walford is proudly acknowledged as one of only 30 Apple Distinguished Schools in Australia.

Walford has a strong sense of community and purpose and is committed to the development of its students as contributing members of society. All students, through class groups, participate in a social service program raising funds for projects such as World Vision and the Anglican Board of Missions and participate in a variety of community service activities.



The school's motto is the latin Virtute et Veritate, meaning 'Courage and Truth'.
