Wales at the Commonwealth Games

Wales are just one of six countries to have competed in all of the commonwealth games, since 1930. The others being Australia, Canada, England, New Zealand and Scotland. The commonwealth games is the only major sporting event that they take part in, as in other events, such as the Olympics yhey compete under the banner of the United Kingdom.

Wales have hosted one commonwealth games to date, the 1958 Commonwealth Games, in Cardiff.

Figures represented in bold are the highest scoring medal tally for each individual medal. Their biggest medal haul came at the 2002 Commonwealth Games, in Manchester, at which they took 31 medals including 6 gold medals. The most gold medals Wales have taken in a commonwealth games is 10, in the 1990 Commonwealth Games, in Auckland.
