Searching several forums, I see no evidence whatsoever that this game was actually released for the PC.

It just simply is not available for purchase. While W&G software is available, it is a far cry from anything resembling this game.

So, I am deleting "PC" from the list of platforms.

An unreleased bootleg (Where? I want it!) or the ability to use an emulator to play something on a PC does not mean that the game was released for the PC. If it were released, somewhere it would either be listed as no longer available, or for sale. It is neither. Therefore, it never legitimately existed.

It was definitely released for PC; have a copy in front of me right now. I don't think you looked particularly hard, because a simple Google search for 'wallace gromit project zoo PC' [1] brings up plenty of evidence. The second result is a press release from the game's developers, Frontier Developments [2]
