[edit] PepsiCo
I'm not sure as to the ownership of Walkers by PepsiCo - it's listed at the PepsiCo website: [1], [2]
I've left out any mention of it until someone can add it. violet/riga (t) 20:17, 28 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Yep, they are owned by Pepsico, I've added the details to the article. Twrist 23:39, 7 Apr 2005 (UTC)
The logo is pretty similar to Pepsi too anyway
[edit] Walkers advert
Does anyone know the year the Walkers advert featuring Gary Lineker and Paul Gascoigne was first shown? Checked Google and Google Groups, but couldn't find anything. Earliest mention I could find on Google Groups was 1998, but I thought it was much earlier. BillyH 21:43, 29 August 2005 (UTC)
- I believe it was '95, but I've not got a reference for that yet. violet/riga (t) 21:48, 29 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] IPod competition
Walkers are running a competition at the moment, to give away one expensive prize every 5 minutes through september
Is that 11M products/per figure for the UK market? If so, it would seem to imply a 1 in 38000 chance of winning, assuming every "product" had an entry code, everyone entered, and the entries were spread out.
[edit] Flavours
Someone's listed Crack cocaine as a flavour. If no-one can confirm this then it remains deleted. Ppk01 10:50, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Walkers market domination
Over the course of 30 years, Walkers has gone from being one of several crisp makers with a regional base (Tudor, Smiths, etc) to being the dominant maker everywhere in the UK. This was mentioned in The Economist a while back as an indicator of market concentration. Surely this ought to be mentioned in the article? ProhibitOnions 10:48, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Bacon Fries - only remaining Smiths branded product?
I put this in the article but I'm not sure. I see Salt 'n Shake is Walkers now, so I can only assume so. AFAIK the packaging on Bacon Fries/Scampi Fries/the cheese equivalent that no-one sells hasn't changed at all since they started foil-wrapping them. The Smiths logo looks the same as what still appeared on Walkers crisps and other Walkers/Smiths stuff sold in the early 1990s. I hope they never change :) --Zilog Jones 01:10, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
