Waki Yamato

Waki Yamato (大和 和紀 Yamato Waki, March 13, 1948—) is a Japanese mangaka. She debuted in 1966 with the yomikiri Dorobou Tenshi.

Her works include:

• Haikarasan Ga Tōru - Yamato's best-known work, published in Shoujo Friend from 1975–77, and later adapted in 1978 into a TV anime by Nippon Animation and in 1987 into a live-action feature film.
• NY Komachi (NY小町)
• Babysitter Gin (ベビーシッター・ギン！)
• Mon Cherie CoCo - adapted into a 13-episode TV anime by Nippon TV Doga in 1972.
• にくむく士
• 月光樹
• Asakiyunemishi (あさきゆめみし), The Tale of Genji in English, based on Murasaki Shikibu's The Tale of Genji.
