WakeMed Health and Hospitals is a 851-bed healthcare system with eight facilities placed throughout Wake County, NC. WakeMed’s main campus is located on New Bern Avenue in Raleigh, NC.

WakeMed provides a full spectrum of health services, from prevention, education, primary and acute care to specialty care, tertiary care, physical rehabilitation and home health. WakeMed is a private, not-for-profit organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. William K. Atkinson, PhD, MPH, is WakeMed's president and CEO.
