Wainuia is a small genus of land snails of the family Rhytididae, endemic to New Zealand. They have very thin shells, almost translucent, composed of chitinous material varying from brown to almost black, but never with a colour pattern. Their range extends from the middle of the South Island northwards to the middle of the North Island.
