Wael Riad (Arabic: وائل رياض) (born February 8, 1982) is an Egyptian footballer. He plays the Attacking Midfieldier position for Austria's club Grazer AK. The Austrian club Grazer AK have signed a 2-year loan spell for Riad which start in February 2007, from Al-Ahly of Egypt.

Riad, who has the nickname 'Cheetos', is one of the most talented players of this Egyptian generation. He is a very fast player, with accurate shots, and outstanding skills. He is famous for breaking the offside traps, and scoring with his rapid movement.

Being transfered in January, Riad participated in February with Grazer AK in two friendly matches and scored a goal in each game. The Austrian coach seems to be impressed with Riad, and Riad is in his way to achieve titles for his new club.

With his famous number 10, Riad was known to be the wild card in tough games when he comes in the second half. In the last two years, he wasn't a regular player in the games with Egypt's African Super Cup Championship club Al-Ahly but he participated many times as a substitute as he can change the game with one touch.

Wael Riad had put his prints on the glorious victory of Al-Ahly in CAF Champions League 2006, scoring a double-kick goal against Tusker FC of Kenya, in the 32-round, in a game ended 3-0 in Cairo. He participated for 20 minutes in the final against CS Sfaxien and made an impact on the game. This tournament was the third African Champions League Riad achieves with Al-Ahly. He was a main reason in achieving CAF Champions League 2001, and appears as a substitute in CAF Champions League 2005. He helped Al-Ahly to get th Bronze Medalist at FIFA Club World Cup 2006.

Riad participated also in some memoriable games, such as the historic game against Real Madrid, August 2001, when Al-Ahly won 1-0. Al-Ahly also played against AS Roma in August 2002, and Al-Ahly with Riad on Board achieved a notable win 2-1. In July 2003, Al-Ahly met the Spanish side Real Sociedad in Spain and the game ended 1-1 when Riad scored the draw.

Wael Riad was a regular player in Egypt's Youth team who got the Bronze Medalist in FIFA World Youth Championship 2001, as Riad scored twice against U.S.A and Finland.
