Wacky Worm first appeared in the Americana section of the park in 1993. It was orginially themed to be the worm inside the "Big Apple." It is now in the Camp Snoopy section, although it never changed positions. This is not Worlds of Fun first roller coaster for kids.
It sits next to the Timber Wolf™; However, to enter the line queue, guests must enter through the main entrance of Camp Snoopy. (There is no additional cost to enter Camp Snoopy; it is the 6th and newest themed section.)
Even though the Wacky Worm is intended for children, people of all ages may ride, however you must be accompanied by a child under 54" in order to ride. The duration of the ride is around one minute, and that mintue is jammed packed with bumps and turns.
Many would say the best time for older types to ride the Wacky Worm is at night when it is lit up and most of the kids have left Camp Snoopy; the night-time backdrop for the little coaster is spectacular, the Timber Wolf™ looming beside it, and the 205 ft tall Mamba™ towering over that. Both of the larger coasters are also lit up, adding to the effect.
