The W.A.I.S.T. is the acronym for the West African Invitational Softball Tournament.

Held in Dakar,Senegal every February, this amateur co-ed slo-pitch softball event attracts North American and Japanese expatriots as well as students from local schools across Western Africa.

Peace Corps volunteers, U.S. military and embassy personnel make up the bulk of the teams.
