W. H. Sammis Power Plant

The W. H. Sammis Power Plant is a coal-fired power plant at Stratton, Ohio, USA. The plant, operated by FirstEnergy, was the subject of a Clean Air Act case by the Environmental Protection Agency filed in 1999.[1] Block 7 includes one of the tallest chimneys in the world (305 meters), which was built in 1970.

The first four units were finished between 1959 and 1962. Additional units were completed in 1967, 1969, and 1971.[2]
