As of 2001 India censusGRIndia, Vyara had a population of 36,213. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Vyara has an average literacy rate of 74%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 78%, and female literacy is 69%. In Vyara, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Vyara is town ruled by Gaekwad, still has a fort of Gaekwad family. Town has good number of people belonging to Maharashtrian Community. Vyara is also the birthplace of Amarsingh Chaudhry(Died 2003), ex-CheifMinister of the Gujarat State.
