Vyskov is an ancient bishop town lying in the Gate Vyskov on the upper reach of the Hana River. The continual settlement of this area as far back as the older Stone Age can be proved on the basis of archaeological finds. We have no written records about the earliest history of the town, but its attractive location on the crossroad of trade routes, leading from Brno to Olomouc and Kromeriz, reveals its early origin.
