I am a graduate student at Virginia Tech in the field of algorithm visualization. I'm a pretty avid player of both Shartak and Urban Dead, so find me there.

I like all quality beers from everywhere in the world. Sorry, guys, but Heineken doesn't count as a quality beer... it's the European equivalent of crappy "big-3" American beer. Styles I tend to prefer include (in no particular order): India pale ale, stout, Belgian tripel (really any kind of Belgian beer), and barleywine, but I've yet to meet a style I couldn't find a good example of. Yes, even in the American pale lager genre, I can drink a Rolling Rock with pizza (although of course I try to find something else first).

I also homebrew. I've successfully made a crossover between an American pale ale and a hefeweizen, but my first two attempts at making beer were pretty bad. Somehow I missed the part about milling the grains, but the local homebrew shop got me fixed up on that account. I'm an extract brewer for now, but I do use adjunct grains. I currently have a mead going, but things aren't looking good; for Christmas 2006 I got the materials to make a Russian Imperial stout, so I'll hopefully get good results from that.

One final note, for my "friends" at the leasing company in charge of my townhouse: Old Virginia Sucks!
