Description

(From army.mil) Staff Sgt. Kevin Jessen checks the underside of two anti-tank mines found in a village outside Ad Dujayl, Iraq. Jessen is assigned to the 748th Explosive Ordnance Detachment, deployed from Fort Jackson, S.C., in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The 748th EOD is supporting the 1st Infantry Division. This photo appeared on www.army.mil.
A soldier checks two Italian made VS-1.6 anti-tank mines. The mines are upside down, although this would not affect their function.
