Vrpolje is a village in the region of Slavonia, Croatia, 10 km south of Đakovo; elevation 90 m. Chief occupations are farming and livestock breeding. Vrpolje is located at the intersection of the main road (M17.01) Slavonski Šamac - Đakovo - Osijek and the regional road, as well as on the railway junction of railroads Zagreb - Slavonski Brod - Vinkovci and Osijek - Đakovo - Slavonski Šamac.

Vrpolje is visited by numerous tourists and lovers of Meštrović's art. Meštrović was born here because Vrpolje was a temporary residence of his family (his father was involved in the construction of the railroad Đakovo-Šamac); later on the family returned to Otavice near Drniš.
