appears to be an obtuse advert for a website --Tomheaton 15:55, 25 Sep 2004 (UTC)

It's not an advert; the linked site is the source of the quoted phrase. It might be more appropriate to remove the link but this whole entry is more of a dictionary definition anyway. The term 'asplode' appears to be some sort of slang that is frequently used in forums, usenet, blogs, etc. -Decimal

OK - you're right. It's a definition. But "perplexing geometric attack" looks like nonsense to me.--Tomheaton 08:23, 27 Sep 2004 (UTC)

It *is* nonsense. That's probably why the word was adopted to begin with. A search on google will reveal that 'asplode' is most often used in reference to a person's head. This usage can be traced back to the original context which was described specifically as being a "perplexing geometric attack" against a spiky-haired head. -Decimal

  • Sure, but (a), that's still a dictionary definition, and (b) the perplexing geometric attack doesn't make any sense to me as a reader that doesn't know anything about the subject. It reads like an in-joke, which is not what we're trying to do here. So it needs to be rewritten.--Tomheaton 17:15, 28 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. I love Homestar, but do we need articles on every little word they make up? Actually, considering the amount of insane trivia that's being written (and deleted) these days, nobody answer that. Lord Bob 00:46, Oct 9, 2004 (UTC)

  • Delete: Much older than they think, this is "esplode," which is a fake Spanish accent + "explode" and dates to the early 1980's. Doesn't matter, though: this just illustrates why we shouldn't get into the business of documenting slang. At best it's obscure. At worst, it's obsolete the moment it's said. • Delete. Even Strong Bad admitted it was a poorly translated, made-up word. Oops! I mean, neologism, and fancruft. Ian Pugh 20:49, 9 Oct 2004 (UTC)
